Who Owns You

To track down the answer to this question we might first have to ask ourselves, why were we born in the first place? This might require the help of your loved ones. Were you a surprise? Were you there to fill a lonely gap? Were you there to help out financially? This is not the reason to your very life but it sure creates the foundation of it. Have you got the answer yet? No? It's fine, you can still follow along. The reason you were created might not be as important of a factor as how you were brought up.

Did you believe that you owed your parents your life? Did you believe that they owe you? Did you believe that you could do good to society? Did you think society benefitted from you? These questions aren't here to judge you, except, they kinda are. I cant provide the answers to life because everyone has their own interpretation. Maybe some think that the meaning of life is to give. Maybe for some its to be happy.

For me, its discovering who owns me and how I can repay them. I don't own myself. My parents don't either. It is their expectations of me, along with my will to do whatever it takes to make their dream future a reality. That is what owns me. It doesn't matter if i contribute, or if i'm happy. If i accomplish something, i'm filling up the little lifebar needed for me to "succeed" in life.

Doesn't sound to joyful, i know. But it's motivation, at the least. It gets me going. And i need that for me to continue on, remembering that i just need to stay strong and deal with all the shortcomings of life. Because soon all of the pain and misery will be over. Well no, it won't. The pain and misery will continue for the rest of my life. But if i that means i get a chance to see my parents in the future finally looking at me and saying i succeeded, then i'd finally be proud of myself. I'd say that i've somewhat, to some extent, satisfied my owner.
